WAIST EXERCISES – Your Guide to a Slimmer Waist

It’s 2008 and waists are in. OPH Good Housekeeping has a trick or two up their sleeve to help you in your quest for that much sought after hour-glass figure.

Side Bends

Stand with legs shoulder width apart.

Raise arms above the head with palms together.

Bend the upper body to the right. The arms should be slightly bent to avoid muscle strain.

Return to an upright position then repeat, bending to the left.

Repeated 10 times each side.

Side Bends with Weights

Stand with feet shoulder width apart.

Arms should be extended downwards

Take a weight in each hand (dumbbells are great but tins of beans will do).

Bend to the right keeping the left hand arm straight, the right arm should be bent with the hand and the weight in the arm pit.

Aim for a fluid motion as you repeat for the left hand side.

Repeat 10 times for each side.

Twister

Stand with feet shoulder width apart

Arms should be bent at elbows on each side of body with fists loosely clenched.

Twist the upper body to the right using the arms to get that swinging motion.

Twist to the left. Repeat 20 times for each side.

Toning the abdominal muscles is important, if your quest for a sexy waist is to be successful. Combine the waist exercises with the abdominal exercise for startling results.
