Pork Pie Recipe
OPH Good Housekeeping & HomemakingOur pork pie recipe tastes wonderful, is easy and quick to make and will go down supremely well at any Christmas party or get together, so why not give it a go, you won't be disappointed. Ingredients
500 g lean pork125 ml jellied stockSalt and pepper to taste450 g plain flour200 g lard225 ml milk and warm waterDirections
In a bowl mix together the salt and flour and place to one side.In a pan place the milk and water and heat, to this add the lard and when the mixture is just starting to bubble, remove from the hob and pour the ingredients into the flour.Give it a quick stir and start to knead to make the doughFlatten the dough by using a rolling pin cut 1/3 of the dough away and leave to one side.Place the 2/3 of the dough into bread tin and work the dough up its sides.Dice the pork and place it inside the crust. Then place the 1/3 of the dough on top as a lid and baste it with milk.Prick the top of the crust and pop it in a preheated oven of 175 degrees C (350 degrees F) for roughly 90 minutes.When it is cooked make a hole in the side of the pie and using a syringe inject the pork with the jelly.
