What to buy
100g honey roast ham - £0.99
40g medium mature cheddar - £0.24
200g packet crunchy salad - £0.69
25g fresh basil - £0.75
1 onion - £0.16
2 tomatoes - £0.22
Total cost - £4.97

Directions
The first thing you need to do for this cheap ham and cheddar frittata recipe is to grab a deep frying pan and heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add the peeled and finely chopped onion for 10 minutes until translucent.

While you are waiting for the onions to cook grab the potatoes, wash, peel and half them and boil for ten minutes until they become tender. Drain them and add them to the pan containing the onions.

Next, pre-heat the grill to a medium temperature, lightly beat the 6 eggs and stir in the chopped honey roast ham, tomatoes, grated cheddar and half the 25g packet of basil. Season with salt and pepper and fry for roughly 7 minutes on a low heat, carefuly moving the mixture round until it begins to set.

Once you're satisfied the frittata has set, but still has a slightly wobbly top place under the grill until it becomes fully set. Leave to cool down for a few minutes, cut into slices and serve with the crunchy salad.

That's it, cheap ham and cheddar frittata for less than a fiver. Not bad eh?
