Halloween Recipes

Below are some fiendishly delicious Halloween recipes. They are quick and simple to prepare, so happy cooking.

PUMPKIN PIE

Serves (8)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 kg pumpkin
  • 20 ml vegetable oil
  • One 9 inch unbaked pie crust
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 250 ml warm honey
  • pinch of ginger
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 5 g salt
  • 250 ml warm honey
  • 150 ml milk
  • 150 ml heavy whipping cream
  • DIRECTIONS

  • Pre heat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C)

  • Cut the pumpkin in half, removing the seed while doing so.

  • Slightly oil the cut half of the pumpkin and place face down on a lightly oiled baking tray

  • Place the pumpkin halves in the pre-heated oven until the flesh is soft when poking with a fork.

  • When it has been left to cool for a few minutes, scrape all the inside of the pumpkin out, and then mash it.

  • In a bowl mix the mashed pumpkin with the salt and spices, then mix in the beaten eggs, honey, milk and cream.

  • When you’ve done this and made sure it is thoroughly mixed, pour the pumpkin mix into the pie crust.

  • Turn the oven up to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) and bake for roughly 60 minutes.

  • Leave to cool and serve
  • CHOCOLATE APPLES

    Serves (4)

    Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith apples
  • 4 wooden kebab skewers
  • 750g plain chocolate
  • 1 medium bag of sour spiders
  • Directions

  • Fill a pan with boiling water, and place on medium heat. Place all of the chocolate on plate and put the plate on top of the pan.
  • In the meantime skewer the apples with the kebab skewers.
  • When all the chocolate as melted roll the apples in the chocolate until they are fully covered, quickly (before the chocolate dries) cover the apples with the sour spiders. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Serve
  • TOFFEE POPCORN

    Ingredients

  • 100g popcorn
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 50 g butter
  • 2.5 tablespoon golden syrup
  • Directions

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan, mix in the popcorn and shake the pan side to side to cover the popcorn.
  • Put a lid on the pan; lower the heat. When the popping simmers down, remove the pan from the hob.
  • In the meantime, in a pan melt the butter, mix in the brown sugar and syrup and mix thoroughly over a medium/high heat fro roughly 2 minutes
  • Cover the popcorn with the toffee mix, put the lid back on the pan and shake until the popcorn. Leave to cool and serve.
  • CHEESEY SCARY EYEBALLS

    Ingredients

  • 200g Cheddar cheese
  • 8 pickled onions
  • Pinch salt
  • 75g butter
  • Red food colouring
  • Directions

  • Pre heat oven to 205 degrees C (400 degrees F)
  • Grate the cheese in a bowl and sprinkle with salt
  • In the meantime melt the butter and pour it over the grated cheese making sure the cheese is fully covered.
  • Get the pickled onions and cover them with cheese to form cheese balls
  • Place in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and place in the oven fridge until the cheese is firm. When the cheese has set, with the red food coloring form a pupil in the centre of the eye ball. At this point if you want you can draw in veins using the food colouring. Serve
