Fruit Pie Recipes

Below are some excellent fruit pie recipes, which will help you maintain your level of good housekeeping.

1.APPLE PIE

Ingredients

  • 6 Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 125 ml apple juice
  • 20 g cornstarch
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g white sugar
  • Directions

  • Preheat oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F).
  • Blend the apple juice, 50 g cup white sugar and the butter in a sauce pan and heat until melted. Add the apples and cook until fruit is tender.
  • Combine the other 50 g of sugar with the cornstarch. Stir into the fruit mixture, and then cook until thickened. Cool then pour into the pie shell. Cover with the top crust and seal.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • 2.CHERRY PIE

    Ingredients

  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200 g white sugar
  • 600 g pitted cherries
  • 1 ml almond extract
  • 3 ml vanilla extract
  • 25 g butter
  • 30 g quick-cooking tapioca
  • Directions

  • Preheat oven to 205 degrees C (400 degrees F). Place bottom crust in pie-pan. Set top crust aside, covered.
  • In a mixing bowl combine tapioca, salt, sugar, cherries and extracts. Let stand 15 minutes. Turn out into bottom crust and dot with butter. Cover with top crust, cut vents in top.
  • Bake for 50 minutes.
  • 3.RHUBARB PIE

    Ingredients

  • 450 g diced rhubarb
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 100 g white sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 g packed brown sugar
  • 20 g crushed cornflakes
  • 75 g flour
  • Directions

  • Combine rhubarb, 1 tablespoon flour and white sugar. Mix thoroughly and place in pie shell.
  • Melt the butter and mix with the brown sugar, crushed corn flakes and flour. Mix in a bowl and pat down on top of pie. Bake in oven at 175 degrees C (350 degrees F) for about 40 minutes. Turn off oven and leave the pie in the oven for another hour. Serve warm.
  • 4.STRAWBERRY PIE

    Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) baked pie crust
  • 600 g fresh strawberries
  • 25 g cornstarch
  • 150 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 200 g white sugar
  • 180 ml water
  • Directions

  • Place half of strawberries in baked pastry shell. Mash remaining berries and with sugar
  • Blend in a saucepan. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water. Gradually stir cornstarch mixture into boiling strawberry mixture. Reduce heat and simmer mixture until it is thick. After about 10 minutes of frequent stirring pour the mixture over the berries in the pastry shell. Refrigerate for 8 hours before serving.
  • 5.BLUEBERRY PIE

    Ingredients

  • 2 (9 inch) baked pie crust
  • 600 g blueberries
  • 150 g white sugar
  • 25 g cornstarch
  • 2 g salt
  • 1 g ground cinnamon
  • 15 g butter
  • Directions

  • Preheat oven to 220 degrees C (425 degrees F).
  • Mix the sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon, and sprinkle over blueberries.
  • Pour berry mixture into the crust, and dot with butter. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2 - 3/4 inch wide strips, and cut vents into the top
  • Bake the pie for about 50 minutes.
