Right. Let's gets started.

Dandruff Remedies

Lime - Believe it or not, lime is one of the best natural dandruff remedies out there. When you've shampooed your hair and are ready to give it one last rinse, what you need to do is to add roughly a teaspoon of fresh lime juice. Doing so helps ease your dandruff, plus makes your hair sleek and shiny.

Fenugreek seeds - Many advocates of natural health remedies, talk about the wonders of fenugreek seeds in the treatment of dandruff.

They recommend that two tablespoons of these seeds should be soaked in water overnight and then when the morning comes along ground down into a fine paste.

Next, this paste should be aplied to the scalp area and left in for roughly 30 minutes, before being washed out thoroughly with soap nut solution. After a few days you should notice a vast improvement.

Serpent gourd - Serpent or snake gourd - as it is also known - is a long, slender subtropical fruit usually found in South and Southeast Asisa. Not only does it taste nice, it's exceellent at treating dandruff too.

In order to transformed into a dandruff remedy the juice needs to siphoned into a vessel and applied liberally to the scalp.

Mung bean powder - Mung bean powder is generally associated with Chinese, Thai, Korean, Malaysian, Japanese and Indian cuisine, but can also be used as dandruff treatment.

Here you should wash your hair at least twice a week with two tablespoons of mung bean powder mixed with curd. After a couple of weeks you should notice a massive difference.

You will find this powder in some supermarkets and most Chinese food outlets.

White beet - Beet is one of the most useful natural dandruff remedies you can use in order to combat this somewhat embarrassing ailment.

Here you'll have to remove the roots and tops and boil them in water. When you've finished boiling them and waited for the water to cool down, you'll then need to wash your hair in this.

Dandruff Causes

There is myth doing the rounds that dandruff is caused by poor hygene. I can firmly confirm that this is not the case. Although the exact causes are unknown it is suggested that perhaps people who fail to brush their hair regularly may fall victim of this condition. The reason given for this is the fact that dead skin cells cannot be shed efficiently, resulting in the buid up of dandruff.

Another popular theory is to do with yeast. By all accounts certain yeasts produced by the body can cause dandruff to be prevalent in people who's body's are sensitive to it. With this in mind it is said that during the summer months dandruff may be less of a problem in relation to the winter months because the sun can combat the bodies yeast production.

Other causes of dandruff may be attributed to stress, hormonal changes, puberty, humidity levels and perspiration.

Dandruff Symptoms

The symptoms associated with dandruff are somewhat predictable. They include an itchy scalp which my become tender and red through scratching, as well as the traditional white flakes found on the scalp and collar which are widely associated with the condition.
