In order to maintain the natural texture and shine of your leather upholstery it is important to keep it out of direct sunlight as this can give it dull complexion, tighten it and eventually lead to it cracking.
Secondly, in your efforts in cleaning leather upholstery a great tip is to apply this homemade cleaning agent to it every now and again. Here you’ll need some white vinegar and linseed oil. Grab a small bottle and fill it with 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts linseed oil. When you’ve followed these instructions give the bottle a good shake and there you go, you have your cleaning substance.
In order to apply the substance to the leather you need to do so via a soft cloth and in a circular motion see to it that the whole surface has been treated. Once you have done this leave it for approximately 10 minutes and then start to buff with a different soft cloth. In order to gain the best results it is recommended that you buff the leather upholstery twice before you finish.
How do I remove stains when cleaning leather upholstery?
When removing stains it’s imperative that you do so as soon as you discover them as more often than not they’ll be a lot tougher eradicate the more time that elapses.
One of the most difficult stains to remove is ink; in order to remove it get a soft dry cloth and dab at the ink, this will help remove some of the ink before it seeps to far within the leather.
Secondly grab yourself another cloth and slightly damp it. Then start to lightly clean the ink using a nice circular motion. Once you’ve followed these steps dry the area with a soft cloth,
If you find that these steps haven’t resulted in the desired affect then why not apply a little bit alcohol to cotton bud and dab then area then dry the area using a blow dryer? The alcohol should have the strength to shift the stain.
In order to remove scuff marks from leather a great tip is to use a 50:50 mix of cream of tartar and lemon juice. Here, mix the two substances together and apply to the mark and leave to settle for approximately 10 minutes. Once the time has elapsed remove it using a damp cloth.
