Christmas Party Games

OPH Good Housekeeping & Homemaking

Christmas party games - for the whole family - to help put the fun back into the festive season.

Charades

Guess the name of a book, film, song or television programme.

Rules

Each person in turns acts out a title by giving a series of non verbal clues.

Indicate the genre ie book, film etc and the number of words in the title.

Each word can be acted out individually or you can opt to act out the tiitle as a whole.

The audience have to guess the word or words and the person who correctly identifies the full title wins and the next person has the chance to act out their title.

Who Am I?

Rules

Correctly identify the assumed character of each guest.

Each person writes the name of a famous person on a piece of paper and cellotapes it to the forehead of the person to their right, without that person knowing which character they are.

Each person in turn asks questions about their character and continues to ask questions if the answer is YES. If the answer is NO, then the next person takes over asking questions about his character. This continues until all persons have correctly identified who they are

Chinese Whispers

Rules

The first person whispers a sentence into the ear of the person to their right. That person whispers what they think they have heard into the ear of the person to their right and so on… The last person repeats out loud what he has heard. You may be surprised at how far it deviates from the original sentence.

Jackanory

Rules

Take a side of A4 plain paper. The first person writes a sentence to start the story then folds the paper obscuring the writing. This is then passed on to the next person, who in turn takes up the story unaware of what has been written before. Each person in turn carries on their particular story on their subsequent turns until the side of paper is completely folded. It is then passed to the next person who will read out the joint story.

(Paper should be folded in concertina type folds so that the writing follows on)

Name The Cheese

Rules

Purchase a selection of cheeses and list each cheese.

Photocopy the list (one for each guest) and see who can match the most number of cheeses to the list.
